Dorn Method & Breuss massage

APPLYING DORN METHOD TO ALIGN THE HIP, KNEE AND ANKLE

BALANCED BODY, BALANCED LIFE!

WHAT IS THE DORN METHOD AND WHAT DOES IT DO?

Originating in Southern Germany Dorn Method was developed by Dieter Dorn who devised a range of unique techniques and exercises in helping to align the spine and joints in a safe, gentle manner, without any clicking or crunching. The principle is TO CORRECT DEVIATIONS AND ROTATIONS OF THE SPINE, VIA THE PELVIS AND JOINTS IN ORDER TO REDUCE OVER ACTIVITY OF THE SPINAL MUSCLES AND THEREFORE PROMOTE BALANCE AND A BETTER SENSE OF WELL-BEING.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A TREATMENT

Before a treatment I will assess your posture and postural habits in determining the likely cause of your complaint and l will focus on correcting any imbalances or misalignments you may have. This will involve applying pressure whilst you work with me, whether bending or swinging your leg, swinging arms or moving your head, as Dieter Dorn believed “this distracts the muscles and ligaments, allowing joints to go back into place more easily and doesn’t place any unnecessary stress, allowing the spine and joints to be adjusted much more frequently”. Your first treatment will last about 90mins and subsequent treatments 75mins.

DORN METHOD SELF-HELP EXERCISES

An important added benefit of Dorn Method therapy is simple, self-health exercises which I will personally demonstrate to you and which you can take away on a colourful print-out. You can practise them at home and be responsible for your own self-help maintenance!

CONCLUDING A DORN METHOD TREATMENT WITH A BREUSS SPINAL MASSAGE

The final part of your treatment, which I guarantee you’ll like!, will include a 15-20min Breuss spinal massage which very much complements the Dorn Method and which Clients find profoundly calming as they sometimes even fall asleep; or I’ve been told “I feel taller and freer in the back”. This deeply relaxing massage allows the nervous system to activate the parasympathetic state which is crucial in relieving tense, overworked muscles and joints. And more importantly Breuss massage aims to stretch, align, nourish and energize the spine.

BREUSS SPINAL MASSAGE AS A STAND-ALONE THERAPY

I offer the Breuss massage as a stand-alone therapy due to its therapeutic and lasting effects. A treatment generally takes 30mins.
